![🇵🇹Portugal Pt. 1️⃣ - first couple days 😀
Arrived in Porto in the morning, ‘twas greeted by @good.knight.sarah at our most sickest Airbnb / home for the next month, and immediately scarfed down the Portugal famous pastel de nata 🥮 with the satisfaction of a thousand cats housing catnip at the cafe just downstairs (say that 5x fast).
“We should probably learn how to make these, mmmmmohmygod.”
“YUP” [Proceeds to book baking class with the coolest cutest of German friends @klunkerbunker @sandy_schwalbesen 🇩🇪 - who little did we know would foreshadow our trip to Madeira!!🏝️]
Got to meet up with Julia - longtime bff going back to our U of Hawaii dorm days - which made my heart —> 🥰 What are da chances she was in Porto too, hmmmm. Just one of a bajillion “coincidences” that made this trip feel divine. 😌
‘Splored the city, comfy mom sandals and all, and had the most glorious first couple nights’ sleep like I was back in the womb, since it’s country-wide commonplace to have blackout electronic shades in all bedrooms. 🌚 “Maybe my destiny here is to just get good sleep for once.” And I would’ve been just fine with that. After all, I was here on the bizarrest of whims, mostly thanks to an Encyclopedia of 1962 from my bedroom library in LA. But that’s another story. 📖
It only took those first 2-3 days to feel a magic that wholeheartedly swept me off my clinically weak ankles. ✨ Can’t wait to share the rest with y’all!

HEADLINER PIERRE DOUGLAS
Pierre Douglas was raised in Minneapolis MN, being funny on Twitter is what lead Pierre to pursue standup comedy in 2012. Since then he has opened for comedians such as Darnell Rawlings, Ali Siddiq, and Taylor Williamson from “America’s Got Talent”. His greatest accomplishment to date is opening his own comedy club with fellow twin Cities comedians Brandon Riddley & Bruce Williams and having that comedy club be the hosting venue for Kevin Hart’s Comedy Central show “Hart of The City.
EMCEE LISA EVANSON
Lisa Evanson first hit the stage in summer 2018 and has since become a Twin Cities stand-up staple, having been named a 2021 “Top 5 Comedians to Watch” by MN Comedy; 2020 Winner of the Acme Comedy Company Funniest Person Contest, making history as the first woman to do so; and was a 2021 Finalist in Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy contest. She’s been featured on the FOX 9 Morning BUZZ show, lauded in The Star Tribune, City Pages, and most importantly, her mother’s annual Christmas letter.
